This post is long overdue as the images have been sitting in my computer for quite a while, ready to be made into a blog post. I admit I was a tad embarrassed that I hadn't blogged for quite a while and I finally managed to convince myself to upload this post.
The modelling post/s will be coming soon, most likely over the course of this week.
For character art I thought it'd be best to use some artwork created by someone else as my art skills aren't that great.
Here is a link to the artwork on the artist's page:http://tsukiakari-art.deviantart.com/art/Male-Turnaround-Study-346911478
I just needed the base outline so I took the picture into photoshop to edit it.
Here is the front of my character, as you can see I raised the arms up a bit to make it more of a t-pose. I then added some costume design, inspired by The Flash.
Using the same image from an online source I did the same with the side image using a youtube video from my annotated bibliography for guidence.
Here are my rough front and side views, I used the ruler lines in photoshop to line up features as best I can.
I'll also be adding the finishing touches such as facial features and angling the feet properly on the front view.
Here are my front and side views finished and ready to be put onto planes in 3DS Max so I can begin modelling.

Since there are no particular details I need a top-down view for I'll be moving along and using 3DS Max to start creating my character's outline.
