Over this week I had been experimenting with 3DS Max tools such as; IK
contraints, the graph editor as well as the copy/paste pose tool.
I managed to finish this short crawling animation for a smaller humanoid, such as a goblin or Smeagol from the Lord Of The Rings franchise. My goal was to practice using 3DS Max for animation, I felt like I could have refined the animation a little but I found this tool online called "Mixamo". Mixamo has a online tool that you can use in your browser to rig any .fbx model. To test this I downloaded an unrigged model from turbosquid.com as a .fbx file and after removing the floating teeth that were unexplainably floating next to it's head, I re-exported it and uploaded it to mixamo's rigger. To my delight, in less than five minutes the goblin was rigged with neck movements, arm and leg movements as well as having all five fingers on each have rigged too.
Soon I was able to turn this unrigged goblin into a... Much cheekier goblin.

Mixamo also comes along with some preset animations which worked with the goblin model such as these two:
Next I'm going to look into animating in Maya by using free models and if they aren't rigged, I'll be using Mixamo again.
