Kicking Animation

For this animation I found a simple middle height snap kick. I mainly used this reference to see the shift in balance for when the man lifts his leg and then snaps with forward as he would move other parts of his body to keep his balance. I used my guard stance and made my character begin in stance rather than from a standing position into the guard stance and then into the kick.

Snap Kick Reference

I already had the 12 principles in mind when going into this animation and am fairly please with how it turned out. I paid close attention to where the hands go and well as how the spine and hips move when keeping balance. It doesn't seem like the man in the reference was an expert when it came to snap kicking but I prefer not to think of my character as a martial artist.

Below is a video of my character's kicking animation:

I wanted to emphasise the slight loss/shift in balance as my character's leg snapped for the kick. To do this I kept one arm more or less in the guard stance while the other arm almost unintentionally moved along with the spine to suggest/demonstrate a shift or a slight loss in balance when suddenly shifting a limb while standing on one leg.

I think it turned one quite well, not the best of my animations but I feel like I captured what I wanted to portray.
