I had briefly tested out biped rigging during the Global Games Jam but quickly changed my mind as I was greatly confused with the envelope part and didn't want to waste valuable time when there were many more characters that needed rigging so I used Mixamo's auto rigger.
That isn't much experience but after following a youtube tutorial to get everything set up I resized the default "Male" biped and placed it inside my character like in the image below:
I also decided that I wanted morph targets so I took the head and put it into a seperate object so I could sort out the morph targets and attach it to the biped later.
In the video below I created a testing animation so I could cycle to certain frames to see how my character held up when being moved around.
As you can see in the images above, there is some work to be done to make my character bend and deform properly. I'll show my progress on the envelope adjusting in my next post.
