My Running Animation

Using this video as reference:

I created a run cycle, mostly using the video as a baseline.

When creating my run cycle I wanted to make sure my character really pushed off of his back leg when taking a step and to make sure he really carried himself along with each step.

I created 3 poses using the copy & paste tool in the motion tab, creating a Contact pose, where the heel touches the floor, a Passing pose where the back leg is coming forward to pass the front leg and a ToePush pose where the foot on the floor is just about to leave the floor while also pushing my hero forward.

Below are some screenshots of the key poses I just mentioned:

Inbetween frames I Set sliding keys from when the heel of each foot comes in contact with the floor and then when the foot is pushing off of the floor so they properly slide along the ground. Once I had done this I made my character bob up and down by selecting the vertical track and bobbing him up and down as if he were pushing himself off of the ground. I then moved his hips, spine and shoulders to make it seem a little more realistic. I also made the head bob a little bit as well as the toes bend slightly, just some added touches of my choice.

I tried to keep in mind that since my character is based off of The Flash, so if the running speed were to be increased the animation wouldn't look too strange.

Below you can see a video of my running animation:
